Serving the North Coast since 1951
Give Local. Save Local.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank connects donors and patients across the North Coast with safe, reliable blood services. 60–70 local donors needed every day.

Community blood supply
Which blood types we need right now.
A snapshot of our current inventory. The lower the drop, the more we need it — every donation refills the supply for local patients.
O-positive is the most-transfused blood type on the North Coast. O-negative can be given to any patient — both are running low.
Inventory changes daily. Call (707) 443-8004 for the latest blood-type needs.
Why the Northern California Community Blood Bank
A blood bank built around our neighbors.
Someone needs blood every two seconds.
We prioritize our local community hospitals first — keeping care close to home for our neighbors, first responders, and families across Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
Ways to give
How You Can Donate
Pick the donation that fits your schedule and body. Every type saves lives.

Apheresis donations
One donor. Multiple lifesaving components.
Apheresis lets us collect just platelets, plasma, or red cells — several doses of a specific lifesaving product from a single visit. We collect plasma for transfusion right here on the North Coast, and we don't pay donors.
